Microsoft announced a few days ago that the XCloud project reached many countries, the service is finally available and it has already been able to test it.
The cloud is one of those terms that have been talked about in recent months in the world of video games. It lies on servers where our favorite game is played, when we press the buttons on our console, actions are sent to this server and the video game continues to display on the mobile phone screen.
This technology has a great advantage, and it is able to convert any device equipped with a screen such as your mobile phone, TV, old laptop or any device to a console.
There is not a single gaming cloud, but there are many companies that have their own services. Nvidia is one of the leading companies with GeForce Now, although we also have Google with Stadia, PlayStation with PlayStation Now and now Microsoft with XCloud. This service has officially arrived in many countries today and has already tested it.
Requirements for enjoying XCloud on your phone:
- You have a Microsoft account and Xbox gamertag. In the absence of it, it can be created in this link
- A phone or tablet with a version equal to or greater than Android 6.0 and with support for Bluetooth 4.0 or greater
- Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.
- Xbox One controller with bluetooth.
- After testing the service, this remote control is not necessary, and any remote control compatible with your mobile phone must work.
- Xbox Game Streaming app, available at Google Play Store: this link
- Registration in the initial version of: This link
Once registered, we have to wait for Microsoft to confirm this via email. I have been lucky since I sent my order this morning I received an activation message, but some colleagues sent it a few days ago and haven't received confirmation yet.
To test this service, I used the Galaxy Note 10 and started playing Forza Horizon 4 to test the quality of service: it is a great car game that is one of the main games in Xbox.
Visually, the result was amazing, which is that when you play a game designed to look great on TV, when you transfer it to a mobile screen with a much higher pixel density, it looks great. Sometimes there is a decrease in quality but at certain times.
After the arrival of this service and others. The mobile phone is not a natural alternative to the console, but it is complementary to enjoying the best games when we can't reach them.
