Lately, Google seems to be making more changes than ever before in its products. We recently learned that the company shut down Shoelace's social network and is working on its debit card.
Now, the latest news that comes to us includes that Google may be close to changing the name of Android TV. In short, the operating system of Smart TV can be renamed to Google TV.
According to the 9to5Google website, Google is seriously considering changing its OS name for TVs. Thus, Android TV will cease to exist as a brand, and it will be called Google TV, although it will be more than just changing its brand from scratch.
This would be a somewhat strange bet, especially if you consider the presence of the Google TV brand. Google TV was a project announced in May 2010, and suggested creating an interactive TV that would improve the experience of consuming web content from the device.
Although we love Android, Google knows that there is a world and market that the brand “Android” cannot cover on its own.
