Kaspersky, a security company constantly devoted to finding vulnerabilities in different operating systems from bad news, has given millions of people around the world discovering a series of malware apps that steal data from Android devices for 5 years.
It was last July when the Doctor web people discovered the presence of a hidden Trojan in Google Play applications, which are very sophisticated and sophisticated malware, so Kaspersky also decided to investigate the matter and found that the malware was part of something bigger, i.e. from a malicious campaign they called The name PhantomLance, which started to spread in January 2015.
According to Kaspersky, the goal of PhantomLance is to collect information from users ’devices, but the most dangerous thing is that the sources of applications containing this malware mostly come from P Google Play Store and from external APK repositories like APK Pure, which are very popular and used in all around the world.
Any application that contains this malicious program has the ability to steal information such as the device's location, call logs, text messages, installed applications and information from the affected device and all this without the user knowing it.
The company’s recommendation is to only install apps from Google Play Store from trusted developers. Also, it asks you to check user reviews for comments, because these apps often contain high-rating ratings, but different user reviews prove the opposite, which indicates that they are fake reviews and may be a malware app that seeks to attract users with their good reviews.
