Apple has released a new beta update for iOS 13.5, this beta includes three major changes, the most prominent of which is that it brings the first version of the Corona Virus Tracking API programming interface that Apple is cooperating with Google. But when will Apple launch the final update release for all users?
What's new in iOS 13.5?
The release includes three major changes, all of which come as a clear response to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19):
1- The first release of the Corona Virus Tracking System API:
IOS 13.5 includes the first release of the Corona Virus Tracking System API, based on Bluetooth contact tracking, to help notify others that you were in contact with someone who was infected with the Corona virus and vice versa.
Apple has indicated that an iPhone uses Bluetooth connectivity technology to share random identifiers safely with neighboring devices and collect their identifiers. This allows this system to notify you if you have been exposed to the Coronavirus, and these random identifiers will be deleted after 14 days, and you can also choose to share the Corona Virus Diagnostics anonymously.
This same version does not track the connection, instead, it sets the framework for developers of the Public Health Authority to build their own applications that can manage exposure notifications, and Apple has customized a beta version of the Corona Virus Notification APIs for public health agency developers to help collect data .
2- Facilitating unlocking the iPhone when wearing the muzzle:
(IOS 13.5) makes it easier to unlock your iPhone if you wear the muzzle, so Face ID can detect that you're wearing a mask, and go directly to the passcode screen to unlock your phone.
3- Modify group video calls in FaceTime:
In addition to the changes in facial recognition technology, Apple has also modified FaceTime Group video calling in order to allow users to turn off the dynamic zoom effect within calls, which automatically expands the participant window when speaking, and the person to focus on can be identified by clicking on New fixed window interface.
IOS 13.5 also adds a new setting to disable this feature through the following steps:
⚫Go to (Settings).
⚫Scroll down to the FaceTime option, then tap it.
⚫From here you can turn off the (Automatic Prominence) option by pressing the switch next to it.
IOS 13.5 release date?
Everyone is expected to release at least one other iOS 13.5 beta before the final release for all. Next, we expect iOS 13.5 along with the new Corona Virus Tracking System API in mid-May, if the beta goes according to plan.
