Youtube revealed a couple months ago a new app named Parts, which would make it much simpler to view videos as the viewer will quickly enter the section of the video they want to see instead of wondering or quick scrolling for 10 seconds a few times before you reach the section you 're searching for.
These chapters are great in long videos for feedback or guides where viewers might have only went to see a video to see what section they 're interested in, or, whether this is the second or third time they 're viewing, to see exactly what guidelines or protocols they 're going to obey (whether it's an instructional program) to complete their task.
Such chapters are often very helpful in music videos that last longer than an hour, as you can move to your favorite song or switch between songs.
YouTube has been pushing out this function little by little since April, so it will now be publicly open to all consumers on mobile devices and computers.
The negative thing for developers is that their video playtime will be shortened, but YouTube finds this functionality to have other advantages, because they also claim they have conducted field testing to see how people communicate with the app.
The organization also confirmed that it should advise producers to use chapters for their videos before posting them.
