Facebook continues its plans to put ads on WhatsApp

Since Facebook announced the purchase of WhatsApp (in early 2014), many users have started wondering what changes the popular messaging service will experience in the hands of Mark Zuckerberg.

Let's not forget that it is still a free app, and knowing that Facebook paid nearly $ 22 billion to buy the app, it stands to reason that the company has some plans on its way to recover the investment.
In late 2018, Chris Daniels (Vice President of WhatsApp) stated that the app “will start showing ads soon”. We didn't know more about this, and it seemed earlier this year that Facebook had given up on this idea.
We are now facing a new development, and according to a report published by The Information, it appears that Facebook has not completely surrendered and is still planning to submit ads on WhatsApp.

In fact, the social network spokesperson was responsible for confirmation
To Engadget that "ads are still a long-term opportunity for WhatsApp."
Let's not forget that Facebook's image has been severely damaged in recent years, as it moved from a scandal to a privacy scandal. According to the report published by The Information, Facebook abandoned these plans to avoid antagonizing regulators, who have been closely monitoring the company's activities recently.
What we do know is that, at least in the near future, Facebook has no immediate plans to display ads on WhatsApp, even though it is still on the table.
